Once you get up, past the local atmosphere, you're into something called the Etherium. It's breathable - supports life and everything. All the habitable planets in the empire are there, including Montressor - where I'm from. The ships are open, same as you'd use for sailing on water.

I was under the ship's cook so I spent a lot of time cleaning everything, but whenever there was free time I used to go up in the rigging and just look out at everything. You really can't describe it.
[She tugs her knees up to her chest, sighing a little wistfully.]
The stars were beautiful in Nibelheim. It was so far away from any cities that you could see all the constellations perfectly. I can't imagine how amazing it was to be up there.
[ The mention of her hometown gives him a pause - he's not sure how much it's okay to talk about, just like he's not sure how much it's okay to talk about Cloud, or Tadashi, or any of the other awful things.
She doesn't seem upset, though, so he thinks it'll be alright. ]
[Tifa actually isn't feeling awkward at all. She does have good memories of Nibelheim, and it's nice to remember them instead of what happened, sometimes.]
It's a place called Benbow on the planet Montressor. Really backwater except the spaceport - my mom ran an inn and we mostly got spacers on shore leave in. Other than that there's not a lot of humans around other than me and my mom.
I was the only human where I was taken from, too. Thought for a while that was the common factor, but then I found out there was at least one person here who isn't.
