[Pausing as he dug through his pockets to pull out a kazoo.] I do have this. It's not very soothing though. [Giving a grin as he puts it on his mouth. Looking over to the door a moment. Who even knows if Brian sleeps, so he'll just hum a couple of notes into it. So romantic, right?]

Sounds like a guy I met once who talked like that. [ Well... not exactly like that, but Zell doens't need to know the details. It's probably enough that something about it is clearly amusing Zell. ] Either you've got to practice really hard, or we're gonna have to work something out.

[swatsflies]

[He's grinning a bit at that.] Yeah? I can do it when I wake you up in the morning if you like. [Is he serious? Is he teasing? The smile will probably say he's teasing, but he is giving a look that says he's considering it.] I'll do my best, but if your take kisses and back rubs for payment... [Then he might go with the payment option.]

If you're going to use it to wake me up, you're going to rack up some major debts, Mr. Dincht. [ The look Jim's giving Zell says that he knows Zell's joking, but also that he wouldn't put it past Zell to try it at least once. ] Shouldn't live beyond your means.

[Zell can think of some better ways to wake up his boyfriend that didn't involve the kazoo. Though Jim's words does make it a little tempting. He'll rub his chin in consideration for a moment before giving a coy look.]

Guess that would mean keeping me around for a long time until I pay you back, huh?

Guess so. No getting out of it, remember?

[ Jim holds the bracelet up to catch the tablet light, a visual reminder. ]

Just... as soon as you get back.

Is there going to be interest involved?

[Then he's going to smile at seeing the bracelet. Tracing it on the screen for a moment.]

Wouldn't even think about getting out of it, Stars. I'm all yours.

[For as long as Jim will have him. Holding up the bracelet Jim made him and placing a kiss against the coin.]

I'll make it back to you in one piece.

Good. That's a promise. [ Jim echoes the gesture and takes a deep breath. ] No big risks unless we can make them together.

[swatsflies]

[It's cute when Jim does it. He feels his heart ache watching the motion. Messing his own hair up as he smiles a bit.]

Speaking of risks, there is a lot of rubble that needs to be cleaned out here. We should come back. [There is a pause.] Enjoying the shower is a plus. [Sneaking peeks of his boyfriend in various stages of missing an article or more of clothing is definitely a plus. Flushing a little bit when he thinks that as he looks away.

Clearing his throat.]

Wha-what are you going to sing for me?

Zell. [ Yeah, Jim knows exactly what he's thinking about - at least, if he's flashing back to that night they'd taken a bath together, before they pierced Zell's ear. And it's not even fair to bring it up when Zell is days away and not right here where Jim can hold him. ] I'd like that.

[ He clears his throat and shakes his head. ] An old ballad. It's about a man who's going to be sacrificed to the devil if his lover doesn't hold on to him no matter what.

What? [Can you really blame a guy for thinking about his boyfriend naked? Sheepishly smiling as he looks back at the tablet's screen. It's not like he's sending Jim near nude photos of himself- oh wait. Already covered that earlier. Jim would like that. He looks happy that he still would like to clean up rubble and shower with him even after the path Zell's mind went.

And even more happy looking because Jim is actually going to sing for him.] Sounds good.

[ Jim opens his mouth and then closes it again, looking away. ]

-It's been a while. Promise not to make fun of me?

[swatsflies]

[He postures straightens as he gives him a salute.]

I promise I won't make fun of you.

At ease.

[ Jim kisses his fingertips and touches them to the tablet screen again before he clears his throat and starts to sing. His voice is nothing amazing, but it's a song he knows well and it makes the hospital seem just a little less oppressive and Zell just a little closer. ]

zell is gonna marry him

[Stop being so cute and far away. The kiss makes his heart do flips and ache all at once. They will have some making up to do as soon as they find each other again.

Bringing his knees up and resting his chin in his hand as he listens. He is so glad this is on video. Hes going to re-watch this probably for the rest of the night!

Once Jim is finished, he'll give a super adoring face. Jim could have a frog in his throat and Zell would still love his singing.]

Lots. [ He feels... intensely stupid singing to the tablet, but it's worth it to see that look on Zell's face. Jim wants to kiss him so badly it hurts, to tell him - to answer back that I Love You, in person, a thousand times over. ] Want an adventure or - uh, a love song?

[swatsflies]

[Lots, huh?] You should teach me all the songs you know some time. I can teach you how to play. [Play what might be the surprise. Maybe he'll pull the kazoo out just to tease.] Adventure. Save the love songs for when I can actually touch you.

I'd like that, when we have time between training. [ Or whenever Jim can distract Zell from training; he may already be plotting. ] Alright, one thrilling adventure yarn, coming right up.

[swatsflies]

[Bring on the distractions. It won't really work unless Jim decides to take off some layers of clothes.] I know you'll figure it out. You're a fast learner. [And he's very good with his hands. The same hands his own was missing. Grinning as he leans back to wait for the song. He really has the best boyfriend if he's willing to sing to him.]

[ A strip tease is a little advanced for him unlike other shameless people Jim could name. ] You're a good teacher.

[ Y'know, when Zell wasn't letting himself be distracted by his sometimes-lazy student. ] You'd be a good teacher one day.

[ It's soft, and the realization comes out of nowhere, but Jim thinks it's true. ]

[Zell might do one, but entirely on accident.] Huh? Really?

[Rubbing the back of his neck feeling pretty pleased and bashful as he grins.] Thanks. I do like teaching you. [It comes with a lot of rewards. He also likes sharing what he knows with others. It's been pretty exciting.

Thinking about being a teacher some day though... he could apply to being an instructor now that he's a SeeD. Even if he can't feel that victory because it's been taken from him, he still knows that's what he is.

Though he also wonders about Jim's world. Would that be something he could do there?]

I get to be Zack's teacher soon. He wants to become a mercenary. [So Zell will show him the ropes. :D]

A mercenary like you?

[ It's more thoughtful than an actual question. Jim's sure that Zell would teach him well, but in all honesty Jim would like both of them in a nice, boring job behind a desk.

Wouldn't be Zack, though, and it sure as hell wouldn't be his kick-butt boyfriend. That's why in the end Jim can only smile and hope one day Zell is ready to settle down and show someone else the ropes full-time. ]

I like learning from you. [ Jim's pretty biased, though. ] If he doesn't, you can always beat it into his skull. [ Jim taps his forehead with his knuckles gently. ]

I think you like distracting me more.

[Teasing just a bit. It does feel him with pride that Jim is saying these things. It makes him feel like he really can do it.

Settling down might take some time though and the right guy being still at his side after all of this was over.]

I think I've done enough beating things into his skull. [Zack had a hard head. Maybe that's why he didn't wear a helmet like Kunsel?]

[rattlingthestars]

No kiddin'. [ In the absence of being able to rub Zell's forehead, Jim rubs his own. ] Let's not have a repeat of that when we all meet back up.

[ Jim doesn't answer the accusation about distracting Zell, but he does grin shamelessly. Yes, yes he does. ] Hopefully you'll be too busy for that.
